Privacy Policy

1. Information that stays on your Mac

The app does not send your files, file names or folder structure to Haemil.

When you turn on content search, the index and the AI model run only on this Mac, and the index is stored on this Mac. Turning content search off deletes the index.

The license file (with the buyer's name and email) and the trial record are stored in the app's support folder and the Keychain on this Mac. The trial record is never sent to Haemil, and the license is sent only for 'License registration and checks' in section 2 below.

2. When the app goes online

Update checks: the app downloads the latest version information and update files from Google Cloud Storage. Access logs such as your IP address, the time and the file requested are kept. Haemil uses them only to count, per day, installer and update downloads and the Macs that checked for updates, and deletes them after one year. Haemil puts nothing that identifies you into these requests.

License registration and checks: when you register or deactivate a Pro license, and at most once every 7 days while online after registering, the app sends haemil.ai the license text, a device identifier, this Mac's computer name and the app version. The device identifier is a one-way hash of the Mac's hardware UUID; the UUID itself is never sent. Haemil uses this to count registered Macs and to list them on your license page.

Content search model: when you turn on content search, the app downloads the AI model file once from Hugging Face.

The app has no ads, no usage analytics and no automatic crash reporting.

3. Contact and bug reports

The app's contact and bug-report actions only open your mail app. Haemil receives your email address and message only if you send it yourself.

We use those emails only to answer and fix problems, and delete them 3 years after the matter is closed (the record period for consumer complaints under Korean e-commerce law).

4. Purchases

When you buy, your name, email and payment details are processed by the payment provider. Haemil does not receive payment details such as card numbers.

To issue licenses, handle refunds and answer questions, Haemil receives your name, email, order number and purchase time, and keeps them for 5 years as Korean e-commerce law requires.

For each registered Mac, the device identifier, computer name, app version and the times it was registered, last seen and deactivated are kept to manage the license for as long as the license is in use.

5. Website

haemil.ai is hosted on Vercel. When you visit, your IP address, browser information and the requested address may be kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting. When installer downloads, the app's update checks or update downloads go through haemil.ai, it stores only the kind, version, country and a value scrambled from the IP address that changes every day, to count them per day. It does not store the IP address itself.

If you sign up for the sales-launch notice, we store your email address, the language of the page you signed up on, and where you came from (the utm_source of an ad link). We use them only to send one email when sales open, and delete them 90 days after that email, or right away if you ask. Not signing up does not affect the app or the trial.

The site stores your language choice in a cookie and your theme choice in browser storage. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and counts pages viewed, referrers, countries and device types in aggregate, without identifying individuals. It uses no advertising trackers.

6. Processors and international transfer

Vercel Inc. (USA): website hosting. Google LLC (USA and elsewhere): distribution of the app and updates. Paddle.com Market Limited (UK) and its affiliates: the reseller and merchant of record for purchases, which processes the buyer's name, email, country and payment details and handles receipts and refunds. Neon Inc. (USA): the website's database, which keeps license and purchase records, registered Macs and sales-launch notice sign-ups.

Haemil does not sell personal information or provide it to others beyond the purposes above.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information at the contact below. Information the law requires us to keep is deleted when that period ends.

Haemil does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we post it on this page with the effective date.
